One collection, one distortion. A visual project about what we see versus what is really there.
Eidolon is Greek for a shadow or a ghostly soul. This series captures an exploration of body dysmorphia, a disorder that alters how you perceive your own body and causes deep anxiety. Through dramatic lighting and cast shadows, the photography sets out to give form to that inner struggle between reality and the image we believe we project.
The clothing sets the texture of the images. To make it, 75 pairs of tights and metres of carpet were reused. In front of the camera, these discarded materials become a raw suit of armour. Directional light carves out the silhouettes, letting the volume of the fabric speak for itself.
Eidolon is not about hiding flaws. It is a photographic visual language that documents vulnerability, transformation and the weight of identity.
